Halloween Night

Somehow we came to have a rodent-themed costume night. Not quite sure how that happened. Em was her favorite- Mickey Mouse. And Lexi was a skunk for all of about 4 minutes. She didn't care for that outfit at all, as the pictures suggest. Lex never quite got over the trauma of the skunk, so she stayed home with our good friends Linda and Greg. Em strutted her mouse self up and down the street like a trick-or-treating pro. Well, she didn't quite get that you were supposed to go up to the houses, but that didn't matter. She was just thrilled running up and down the street. Over and over.

Watching football. Lex really does love football.

Joy, the pumpkin Elmo was a HUGE hit.

Up To Something

And some days you just know they're up to something. Or contemplating being up to something.

Is this the face of future trouble?

You look exceptionally guilty of something already

And Sadie, you obviously needed some furry company.

A Visit to PA

After hitting our 2nd town-wide garage sale of the year and scoring some amazing loot!! -- we drove our way-overloaded van out to PA to visit the family of crazy Smiths. We loved getting to visit with everyone, and Emily loved banging on her brandy-new (well, new to her!) xylophone for Uncle Charlie. We're sure he was equally pleased to hear her banging out her virtuoso rendition of 'Ol McDonald. EIO!! EIO!! We managed to snap a couple pics with Auntie L and cousin Brian before we had to race our overly exhausted little ones home. Miss you guys!!

Yes, this is Steph's little cousin. Not so little anymore huh?

We have listened to Elmo In Grouchland (Emily seen watching here) about 900 times now

Pumpkin Patch Day at Alstede Farms

We had a gorgeous fall weekend so we decided to take advantage of it and go pumpkin and apple picking at a farm in northwest Jersey. We found the actual picking was a little more of an adventure, so maybe we'll try that when the girls are a little older. Emily had a great time though playing around in the already picked pumpkin patch. And Lexi posed and grinned like a pro! Next year we'll get on the tractor and head out to pick our own!!

Uncle Wes Brings a Gift

Emily's absolute favorite is Mickey Mouse. Or, as she calls him, Mo Mo Mow (Rhymes with How). She could watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for hours on end if we let her. So you would have thought when Uncle Wes brought him over that he had climbed right out of her very own television just to play just with her. As you can see, she was just ecstatic.

Strike a Pose

Lexi is starting to become so much more aware. She's definitely going through a growth spurt. She'll be so awake and alert, and then she'll crash for a few hours. She's such a good peanut!

Should We Be Worried?

We don't think Em really wants to strangle her. We don't think.

Professional Picture Day!

When Em was a newborn, we had a professional photographer take some pictures of her, so we decided to have her take Lexi's pictures as well. We should receive the disk soon! Until, here's a couple of our amateur shots from the big day.

Enjoying a milkshake at Cheesecake Factory. Yes, we love this place.

Relaxing Labor Day Weekend at Grammy and Papa's

I don't know if it's the warm weather, the lack of chores we normally have to do at home, or what, but we get so lazy when we're there that we often forget to break out the camera-- but here's a pic of some of the lounging around that transpired.

Alexandria, VA

Yes, a family of 4 with a newbie can travel! We headed down to NC for Labor Day weekend and stopped for the night in Alexandria, VA. It's a pretty decent drive so now that Em is old enough to appreciate it, we are eternally grateful for the dvd player in the back of the minivan. Didn't matter that we listened to Elmo in Grouchland six times, as long as she was happy, we were happy. And with Emmy occupied, Lexi was surely pleased not to be poked by her big sister.
