Beach Day and Kismet 4th of July Block Party

We got lucky and had beautiful weather for the beach. And then the annual block party was a hit as well.

The girls made a friend on the beach. She didn't speak any English, but they don't converse well yet anyway, so they spoke the universal language of play.

Em was a hit at the block party. She got a couple other people dancing with her.

Afternoon in Ocean Beach

We explored an area outside of Kismet for really the first time - Ocean Beach. We had lunch with our friend Ellen, Emily learned the art of "cheers"ing, Lexi had a love hate relationship with lemons, and everyone enjoyed ice cream. We capped off the night with two little ones in bed early and a glass of sangria for us back at the house. Heaven.

For the record, that only looks like pina coloda. It is in fact a smoothie.

With ice cream = Happy

Without ice cream = Angry

In our defense, we didn't give it to her, she snatched it off the table.

You would think after this face she wouldn't want anymore, but she loved it! She screamed when we took it away.

Nighty-night girls. Mommy and Mama get a well deserved fruit cocktail.

Couch Surfing In Kismet

Alright, we've been picture and blog post delinquent in between beach trips. And here we are back in Kismet already! The iphone still doesn't take great pictures, but we got a couple quick candids. They really were playing nice together while watching Finding Nemo. And Emmy was very sweet with Mr. Chico. It only looks like she's about to rip his head off. She definitely loves the tiny pooches that are smaller than she is!

The Worst Day....

...Is always the one when we have to go home. We'll miss our friends and the beach. But see you soon!

Aunt Joy plays silly faces with Lex. Aunt Allison is immersed in Bossypants. The book we will all fight over to read on the beach.

Lexi, remember this time if you can; you knocked over big sister for a change.

A Beautiful Day at the Beach and a Gorgeous Night

Kudos to Ellen for all the baby love. We didn't know you had it in you! But now Emmy has a new friend to take her to the slide.

Our life at the beach consists of playing in the sand, and cooking. And eating. And it just never gets old.

For someone who may not have kids (we'll see), Jay sure does seem to hit it off with our gang.
