The Tree Is Up...

...and we proceeded to watch the Exorcist it seems after the girls went to bed.  :)

Emmy picked out the angel for the top.  She looks like she's about to burn a hole through the ceiling to escape.

Matching Dresses. Kungfu Style

Grandma and Grandpa got these matching dresses from their alma mater.  Em decided to do some serious posing.

Mustache November - Movember

The Mexican restaurant we had lunch at gave out fake mustaches for the kids in honor of Movember.  We all think they're fabulous!

Nicknames

Em has a new nickname for Lex.  The first she ascribed to her was Baba (pronounced bayba).  Now it's Lego.  Why, I asked her.  "Because I like to play with her."  I guess that makes pretty good sense.  Especially for a four year old.

Lexi has taken up calling everyone Coco.  We haven't a clue why.  I'm Coco Mama.  There's Coco Mommy.  Hopefully one day she'll explain it to us.  Coco Lexi.

Mommy Ate All Your Candy

OK, A VIDEO!

It's evil.  Mama knows.  But I couldn't resist.  At work we were talking about the Jimmy Kimmel challenge to tell your kids you ate all their Halloween candy and post the reaction to youtube and they'd pick the best ones to share on air.  Well, I was a little late to the game to do that, but with Mommy Karen out of town for the evening, it was not too late to pin some candy bag devouring on her.

For much cruder reactions from others, see Youtube Challenge: I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy.

To see Em and Lex's reactions, see video below.

I have to say, I love Emmy's so sincere Cry-On-Demand ability.  And I love that while Lexi doesn't yet comprehend the concept of time-- past, present and future, she was more than ready to ask for it back for big sister not to be upset.  But more than anything, I love that they are so sweet, trusting, and ultimately forgiving of me for my little prank.  My camera storage was up so the video cuts off, but they quickly had candy bags in hand and all was forgotten-- with the help of an extra piece or two of candy that night!

HELLO HALLOWEEN

We had a great Halloween that started with a "Trunk or Treat" party at their school.  Mama spent the morning carving 2 pumpkins  (yes, it took forever for this first timer).  And we loaded up the car with some candy, hit the parking lot, and all the kids did their rounds from car to car.
This year the girls went as Barbie and the Popstar.  It's a little movie that came out a year or so ago, and it is (as of now) arguably their very favorite.  The had the costumes, Lexi donned the purple wig, and they sported a microphone and guitar that thank goodness we had the wagon to hold so we didn't get stuck being their personal roadies.  Mommy and Mama did costume light -- a bunny and a piggy.  :)
