Backyard Pool Fun

What's a kid to do when you can't go to the beach? You hit the pool!! Pool with slide!! Emmy went up the stairs and down the slide so many times- splashing water just everywhere- we were surprised there was any water left in it. And we kept waiting for her to come down and steamroll right into Lexi, but she never did. If anything Lex was absolutely loving the whirlpool effect.

Double Trouble

Click on the picture to enlarge it, and then you can really check out the teeth that are finally-a-coming. Won't be long before Lex can eat just about anything her big sis does. Today the girls decided it was a good day for drag racing, so they maneuvered those cars as fast as they could all over that kitchen.

Beach Day

Emmy has decided that she likes to be buried in the sand now. She's further decided that her baby sister does too whether she really likes it or not. Fortunately she does. A family sitting near us on the beach gave us a future tip -- when they get a little older, invest in a big shovel and dig a giant hole they can play in. Guess they did that with their boys and they played in it for hours and didn't want to get out. She said she read the first book she was able to in ages and they stayed put in their giant hole/fort. Must store that idea in the memory bank!

Ferry Ride to Kismet on the Hottest Day of the Year

How hot can it get up here? So hot that even going to the beach is an exhausting excursion. Not sure if this was truly the hottest day of the year or not, but it certainly felt like it. And arguably, we look like it. But nothing that a little chocolate muffin can't take your mind off of, right Lex?

Visiting Uncle Scott

We spent the weekend with Uncle Scott in Baltimore for a music/arts festival, and did a little belated birthday celebrating for Mama. Yes, amazingly, Uncle Scott made this red velvet cake with fresh berries that he picked, himself!

The only thing worse than the camera on the iphone is the iphone camera in a dimly lit room. RATS!

Cousins Mike and Katie made it up to visit too. Here is Mike teaching Emmy how to rap, we think. :)

Our Last Day

Our buddies Jacq and Matt came out to the house for a few days, though sadly we only crossed for the one day since this was our last. They made Em's trip though bringing with them her favorite friend, Mr. Chico.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!
